I too, am a man of culture, but I've never read that one. Just looked it up and it's REALLY long. Lately I've gotten into Mascarasnake's works which fit your requirements (in my humble opinion). He's a master of short stories (and I do mean short) that turn really hot really quickly. Very good writer.
